Henry’s Dog Walking Selby is a small local service run by Barrie in Selby, North Yorkshire. This notice explains what personal information we handle and why, in plain English.
Who is responsible
Barrie, trading as Henry’s Dog Walking Selby (“we”, “us”). Contact: 07446 008359 (call, text or WhatsApp — we do not use email for enquiries).
What we collect
- When you get in touch — your name, phone number, dog’s details, area, and anything you tell us about walks or your dog.
- When you become a client — address or access notes you give us, key codes or key arrangements, emergency contacts if you provide them, and walk preferences.
- Walk updates — photos and short notes we send you during walks (sent to your phone).
This website does not run a server-side contact form that stores your details online. If you use “Text these details to Barrie”, the message is composed on your device and sent via your own messages app.
Why we use it
- To reply to enquiries and arrange meet-and-greets
- To provide agreed dog walking services safely
- To handle keys and access as you instruct
- To send walk photos and updates
- To keep basic records needed for insurance and good service
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing lists.
Who we share it with
We only share details where needed — for example an emergency vet if you have asked us to, or if the law requires it. Your Facebook or Google review activity is on those platforms’ own terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to respond. Client notes are kept while you use the service and for a reasonable period afterwards (for example for insurance or queries), then deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Contact Barrie on 07446 008359. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Website and cookies
This site is a simple brochure site. We do not set marketing cookies or run advertising trackers. Your browser may store normal technical data (such as whether a page loaded). Fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts; see Google’s privacy policy for that service.
Keys and security
House keys and access codes are treated carefully: coded, stored securely, and used only for agreed visits. Details are agreed at the free meet-and-greet.
